Your conference room may be the most important space in your entire organization. It’s where first impressions are made, new hires are interviewed, the biggest ideas are presented and the most important decisions are made.
Our team can work with you to set up a great conference room, because it deserves priority. We can install and configure a dedicated video conferencing system with touchscreen controls that everyone can understand. Whether it is a presentation from a visitor’s laptop or thumb drive, a PowerPoint from the server down the hall, or screen sharing by a remote participant, everyone should be able to take advantage of video conferencing in a modern conference room.
Mini-conference or huddle rooms have become a preferred format for small teams to meet and work in real time with offsite collaborators. They are ideal for when there is more than one person in the primary location and another one or two in a remote location. These meetings can benefit greatly from a shared screen using inexpensive smaller monitors and wide-angle cameras.
Most mid-size conference rooms are designed to accommodate 8 to 20 people for regular staff meetings, board meetings and training sessions. The size and length of the table (and other factors) determine the need for and placement of microphones. We install dedicated equipment with touch screen controls, including two monitors (one for screen sharing, the other for participant video conferencing). High definition cameras with zoom keep attention focused and on topic. A room scheduling system is a useful add-on option.
For larger multipurpose rooms, classrooms and auditoriums, Alternative can provide customized configurations with video conferencing and A/V integration. We can install large-format monitors, multiple cameras and provide training to staff for straightforward set up of large conferences and events.
All of our video conference solutions provide connectivity across platforms including:
- Zoom
- Microsoft Teams
- WebEx
- Go To Meeting
- Join.me
- Bluejeans and more

FAQs
A small conference room or huddle room can be used effectively with built-in features of most laptop computers. However, to best meet the needs of most meetings, you will need a wide-angle, high resolution camera, well-positioned mics and external audio controls (microphone and speakers).
Conference rooms use surprisingly little bandwidth – a symmetrical connection of 2 Mbs up and 2 Mbs down is adequate. However, this needs to be stable bandwidth, partitioned off from the rest of the office. The users at the remote end of the video conference need similar bandwidth. The number of participants does not affect the amount of bandwidth needed.
Alternative can install video conference room infrastructure based on your room size and organizational needs and usage. Get started with a no-cost site visit to assess your specific situation.
We install a variety of equipment including Heckler, Apple, Logitech and Aver. We are not a reseller of any video conferencing software platforms.
